Manjummel Boys OTT Release: Must Watch Today on This Platform Manjummel Boys is an Indian Malayalam language thriller film released in 2024 based on true events. Soubin Shahir, Srinath Bhasi, Balu Varghese, Ganapathy S. Poduval, Lal Jr. Deepak Parambol, Abhiram Radhakrishnan, Arun Kurien, Khalid Rahman, Chandu Salimkumar, Shebin Benson, and Vishnu Regu also star in the film.

Based on a true incident in 2006, the film revolves around a group of friends from Manjummel, a small town near Kochi, who decide to go on a vacation in Kodaikanal.

The film released in theaters in Kerala and Tamil Nadu on 22 February 2024 and received widespread acclaim from audiences and critics. It became the first film in the Malayalam film industry to gross over ₹200 crore and set several box office records, breaking the record for the highest grossing Malayalam film of 2018.

It became the highest-grossing Malayalam film of 2024, the highest-grossing overseas Malayalam film and one of the highest-grossing Indian films of 2024.

Manjummel Boys will be available for streaming on Disney+ Hotstar in other languages from May 5. Inspired by a true incident, this survival thriller has been well received by audiences not only in Kerala but across the world for its captivating narrative. With an IMDb rating of 8.6, ‘Manjummel Boys’ will air on the OTT platform in multiple languages including Telugu, Tamil, Malayalam, Kannada and Hindi. Set in Kodaikanal, Tamil Nadu in 2006, the film follows a group of men who embark on an expedition to the famous Guna Caves, which Kamal Haasan’s 1991 film of the same name was shot at in the same location.

The film released in theaters on February 22 and in Telugu on April 6. Director Chidambaram and the writer expressed their overwhelming joy at the film’s reception, stressing its ability to overcome language barriers and connect with audiences across the country. He is eagerly waiting for the film’s OTT release, where viewers can enjoy it in the language of their choice.

From February 22 to March 11, Manjummel Boys at the box office collected Rs. 89.15 crores and worldwide Rs. 130 crores collected. As of March 21, the film has grossed Rs.200 crore worldwide. It made history by becoming the first Malayalam film to cross 200 crores and became the third highest grossing Indian film of 2024.

2006: A group of friends from an arts club in Kochi went on a vacation to Kodaikanal in the neighboring state of Tamil Nadu during the Onam holidays. They explore Kodaikanal before leaving for Kodaikanal tells one of his friends Guna Guhala, where Guna’s film was shot. Although warned by Dominique, the tourist guide, drunk, exhilarated and happy, the friends arrive at the Guna Caves and decide to explore the restricted areas of the caves themselves. Despite signs of impending danger, the friends explore further. After reaching a spot, some friends decided to carve their group name “Manjummel Boys” on the rocks of the cave. From here onwards this film will progress very interestingly if there is anyone who has not seen this film then wait till OTT and get a good thrill by watching this gripping survival drama thriller.
